Community Outreach

KC Clay Guild frequently offers heavily discounted or even free educational programming for non-profits in our community. This charitable practice is core to our mission:

To promote the appreciation of and participation in ceramic arts through group and individual education programs, public outreach and the creation of a diverse ceramic arts community.

Organizations we have collaborated with include: Imagine That!, ACED, New Frontiers, Circuit Court of Jackson County (Missouri) Family Court Division, Big Brothers Big Sister Kansas City, Kansas City Public Schools, Girl Scouts, Raytown Quality Schools, and Blue Valley Schools.

Contact our Education Coordinator, Amy Troester for any inquiries.

Through our Urban Core Scholarship Program, area high school students can take a 4-week adult class with us at no cost. Click here to view participating school districts and application information.

The AiRs on the Move Program provides an opportunity for schools to host one of our instructors on site. One of our Artists in Residence (AiRs) travels to the school with all materials and tools required, the students create clay project, and the pieces are brought back to our studio to be fired. This is an especially great opportunity for schools that do not have ceramics equipment. This program is provided at no cost to most area school districts.

Contact our Education Coordinator, Amy Troester for any inquiries.
