    Our Studio Coordinator, Louis and his kiln building class have just completed the construction of a downdraft gas kiln!  The kiln will gas us expanded firing capacity.  The kiln design should allow for a higher degree of control of the firing results.

    The first firing will be this Sunday!

    GET INVOLVED! Elections are coming!

    Would you like to be more involved in the running of the KC Clay Guild?

    Interested in serving on a not-for-profit board?


    How it works: Per our bylaws, we elect 10 board members and, once elected, those ten Board members determine who fills what roles. The new board would site from May 2016 through April 2017. Positions include:

    • President
    • Vice President
    • Treasurer
    • Secretary
    • Building Maintenance Chair
    • Publicity Chair
    • Educational Chair
    • Workshops and Events Chair
    • Gallery Chair
    • Membership Chair


    What's involved in serving on the board? We ask that you attend monthly board meetings (approximately 2 hours per month), join or lead at least one committee (such as Raku planning, Building Improvements, TeaBowl National, etc.) and volunteer at no less than three other clay guild events (i.e. volunteer Sunday, plaza art fair outreach, raku night, etc.) It varies by position but most board positions require a commitment of at least 6-10 hours per month.

     MKM Pottery Tools be exhibiting at the NCECA in Kansas, and needs 3-4 people to help with our booths.  We've always had students from local art schools to help us out at NCECAs.  It has always worked out great for both us and the students.  We pay well and also gift the students with pottery tools.
